The NFL regular season has officially ended, which means that the NFL Playoffs have begun. Every year four division winners are guaranteed a playoff spot along with two Wildcard teams from each conference. Wildcard teams are determined by regular season records. The teams who win Wildcard games move to Divisional Round play. The Texans, Vikings, Titans, and Seahawks all won their respective games. Division Champions include: The San Francisco 49ers from the NFC West, the Baltimore Ravens from the AFC North, The Kansas City Chiefs from the AFC West, and the Green Bay Packers from the NFC North.

Divisional Round play started on January 11th. The Baltimore Ravens went into the Playoffs as the favorite to win the Super Bowl. However, the Tennessee Titans pulled off the huge upset over the number one team, out-scoring the Ravens 28-12. The 49ers are also front runners for the championship. The team out of San Francisco took their second round win against the Vikings, 27-10. On the AFC side, the Kansas City Chiefs earned their spot in the conference championship by defeating the Houston Texans 51-31. Before making a big come back, the Chiefs trailed the Texans by twenty-four points. When asked about his team, head coach Andy Reid said his team was “able to rebound”.

The Green Bay Packers will face the 49ers in the NFC Championship after winning over the Seattle Seahawks, 28-23. When asked in a post game press conference to describe what it felt like to win this divsional round game, quarterback Aaron Rodgers replied by saying “it’s a special feeling…these are the moments you work for and think about in the off-season”. Rodgers has led the Packers to the Playoffs various times, including their playoff berth in 2011, when they won Super Bowl XLV.

Next will be the AFC and NFC championships. The winners of each game will earn the opportunity to win Super Bowl LIV. The Tennessee Titans will battle the Kansas City Chiefs in Kansas City for the American Football Conference Championship. The last time these two teams met was in 2018, when the Titans gained the victory over the Chiefs, 22-21. The San Francisco 49ers will compete for an NFC title against the Green Bay Packers. The last time these two teams met was in 2018 as well when the Packers defeated the 49ers 33-30. These games will take place Sunday, January 19.

The winners of these two games will face each other on February 2, at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida, in Super Bowl LIV.
