March Students of the Month

Grant Heileman

Grant has maintained a GPA of 3.9 throughout his high school career and has consistently attained status on the Principal’s list. He is a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, the treasurer of the National Honor Society, and he is captain of the basketball team. He has varsity letters in football and basketball and was a member of the first team to make all MVL in basketball. 

Grant’s hobbies and interests are playing basketball and spending time with his friends. A mentor for him has been his father, Glen. He says that he set an example for the kind of person he would like to be when he is older.

After high school Grant plans to attend Ohio Northern University and major in engineering. He also wants to continue his basketball career.

Rachel Wilke

Rachel Wilke has maintained a GPA of 3.857 throughout her high school career. She is a member of the marching band and is the Alto Saxophone section leader. She also takes part in Sheridan’s track and cross country teams. She has accomplished varsity letters in both the track and cross country teams as well. She was named the most improved teammate for Cross Country and won the General Sheridan Award. 

Her hobbies and interests include running, listening to music, art, long nature walks, and hanging out with her friends. She has aspirations to achieve a scuba license and to become proficient try dry rock climbing. A mentor for her has been Dan Riggs because she can go to him at any time and he always has sage advice. 

After high school, Rachel plans to attend Alpena Community College to pursue an associates degree in criminal justice.
