Emma with her journal.

thing and that thing.'” Hamilton describes her style as Gothic or mysterious. Her favorite thing to write is short stories, but she also enjoys writing poems. Her favorite place to write is in her journal, as it is easily accessible and personal.

Writing can be something that relieves pressure and anxiety, and Hamilton says she writes, “to help cope with my severe depression. It makes my heart happy when I share it with people and I get positive feedback.” She says that the favorite things she has ever written are “a short story I wrote for English last year, I named it ‘The Thread Cut Short’, a short story called ‘Rosilyn’s Box’, and a poem I am working on now, it’s called ‘The Lady of The Forest’.” When I asked Emma how she thought she could improve, she said that she would start doing short stories everyday and time herself to see how far she could get.

Whenever someone is an artist of any form, you should always make sure to ask to see some of their work, and compliment it in some way because it can help boost their confidence and ensure that they continue their craft. The next time you see Emma, ask to read something of hers! You won’t regret it, and you’ll likely find something new that interests you. The pictures below are a poem that Emma has written, so give it a read and comment what you think about it.
